How does SeitenWechsel® work?

Social institutions and projects can teach executives an extraordinarily large number of things which are generally far removed from their personal reality.
Executives spend one week actively working for a social institution, becoming familiar with their day-to-day operations, their challenges and the variety of work they perform. They are then able to plow this experience back into their own personal lives to extend their social skills, their awareness of societal needs and their ability to treat their colleagues and staff with greater care and attention. This unusual encounter reinforces their ability to interact and personal strength.
Working jointly with social institutions and companies, SeitenWechsel® develops practical programs and enhances them on an ongoing basis by means of regular contact with the parties involved.

A broad range of social institutions is included:
- Addiction and drug assistance
- Help for the homeless
- Care for the disabled
- Care for refugees
- Care for the seriously or terminally ill
- Psychiatric care
- Assistance for young people and children
- Assistance for prisoners
|
All institutions are examined closely and in person. The weekly schedule is discussed and finalized, ensuring a focus on direct contact with the clients of the social projects via joint activities.

|
Preparation
Executives receive special preparation prior to commencing their internship. Pursuant to the contract entered into with SeitenWechsel®, the social institutions present themselves to all participants, who then decide which one they would like to work for and then arrange a starting date for their internship with a representative of the institution in question.
Preparations take account of the company's requirements and the program of the participating groups.

|
SeitenWechsel®
This is followed by the week-long SeitenWechsel® internship at the institution which the participant has selected. During this week, the participants have permanent contact persons standing by to assist them.

Evaluation and exchange of experience
After the conclusion of their one-week internship, the participants evaluate their experience in conjunction with others. A separate evaluation is also performed with the social institutions.
SeitenWechsel® is supported by scientists who evaluate the effects and implement new findings. After several hundred internships in Switzerland and Germany, the results to date are very encouraging.
